Name: Potion Woman
What I liked:
– if you like sweet fruity floral scents this is for you
– strong, but not overpowering
– beautiful bottle
What I didn’t like:
– neither original nor complex
– not very sultry nor seductive
Who of us has never wished we had a sultry, intoxicating and inebriating love potion with which to lure and seduce a special someone? Throughout the centuries women, and men, have tried to create love potions and filters that would make them irresistible to the opposite sex, but with very disappointing results. A true love potion will never exist, but Dsquared2 has attempted to create the ultimate “scent of seduction”. Did it deliver?
If your ideal “scent of seduction” is a sweet fruity floral, tame and commercial fragrance, than yes. Potion for women opens with a sparkling and strong citrusy burst laced with sweet blackberries. Soon, the scents softens into a floral bouquet composed of rose, lilies of the valley and jasmine layered on a warm background of amber and vanilla. The creaminess of these last two notes hangs around in the drydown, where they mix with the earthiness of the patchouli and give the scent an almost gourmand touch.
Potion Woman smells truly lovely, but lacks both complexity and originality. It’s nothing we haven’t smelled before a thousand times already. It’s one of those modern, sweet and longlasting scents with no edgy accents that appeal mostly to young girls. And it’s the homely girl-next-door, not a seductress that I picture when I wear Potion. Its wearer won’t seduce, but wants to be seduced instead.
Dsquared2 Potion Woman is a modern, warm and sweet, fruity floral scent that will appeal mostly to young girls and is perfect for the winter season. It’s strong, but not overpowering, and lingers around for the entire day. However, the scent, which lacks complexity and originality, is also very commercial and tame, not sultry.
