Name: Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme
What I liked:
– pleasant and refreshing aromatic woody scent
– good sillage and staying power
What I didn’t like:
– if you’re expecting a sporty scent, it will disappoint you
– not particularly original
Mainstream fragrances aren’t original, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be well-crafted and pleasant. One of my favourite mainstream scents for men is Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme. It’s not sporty at all, but it’s fresh and energizing, and will give you that nice little extra boost to start the day right.
Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme starts with a zesty burst of Sicilian mandarin mixed with the light woodiness of cypress and a hint of herbal clary sage. This is my favourite stage of the scent. The notes work very well together and create a refreshing accord with a slight oceanic vibe. Soon, it disappears, leaving in its place a strong, but not overpowering, clean white musk note.
White musk is one of those overused notes that you either love or hate. Here, however, it is spiced up and made more interesting by the addition of black pepper. The white musk lingers in the drydown, where its rough edges are softened by the sweetness of tonka bean and vanilla.
Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme is definitely a very masculine scent that’s both sweet and bold, refreshing and sensual. I can see it being a hit with the ladies, although they probably wouldn’t want to wear it themselves. Both sillage and staying power are good. The scent lasts about 12 hours on the skin, and leaves behind only a subtle trail.
Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme is a well-crafted aromatic woody scent with a splash of oceanic notes that lasts all day on the skin. However, it’s not very original, and not very sporty either.
