From Bottega Verde’s website:
Extremely easy to apply and long lasting, this soft pencil produces smooth lines and intense colour for flawless, precise makeup. Easy to blend, it adds depth to your look.
What I liked:
– creamy texture, tug-free application
– can be smudged to create smokey eyes looks
– the packaging
– often on sale
What I didn’t like:
– colour is not very intense
– on oily lids, it smudges easily without a primer
I don’t know about you, but when an eye pencil is called Intense, I don’t just expect the colour to be pigmented enough to leave an opaque line in just one coat. I expect it to be saturated, deep and vivid. Bottega Verde Intense Eye Pencil in Intense Black, instead, leaves behind a line of soft, almost matte, black that defines the eyes in a very natural way. It’s kinda disappointing that it doesn’t live up to its name, but at least its softness makes it suitable for daytime looks too.
The pencil has a quite creamy texture that glides easily easily on the lids, without tugging at them. It can also be smudged to create smokey eyes looks, although I wish it came with a sponge-tip applicator, which would make application a lot easier.
Unfortunately, this also means that the eyeliner smudges easily even when you don’t want it to, making it necessary, if you have oily lids (I think it would hold up much better on dry ones), to apply it on top of a primer to avoid panda eyes. With the help of a primer, the pencil will easily stay put for 8 whole hours.
