Name: Coralista Blush
From Sephora’s website:
A warm coral-pink powder that warms up your complexion. Take a tropical pleasure trip with CORALista. Sweep this warm coral pink powder onto cheeks anytime, anywhere. Move your brush to the beat & turn up the heat… bikini optional!
What I liked:
– beautiful shimmering coral pink shade, looks flattering on most skintones
– warms up the complexion, giving it a healthy and fresh flush
– buildable pigmentation
– easy to apply and blend
– good staying power
What I didn’t like:
– ladies with darker skintones may need to apply several layers to get the colour to show up properly on their cheeks
– the floral scent may be too strong for some people
A coral blush is the perfect companion for the summer season: it warms up the complexion and gives it a fresh and healthy glow. My favourite coral blush at the moment is Benefit Coralista blush, a beautiful shimmering coral pink. Coralista is neither too pink, nor too orange, and has a natural undertone so it looks flattering on most skintones. It is infused with very fine gold shimmers that won’t emphasize pores and imperfections, but only provide a nice sheen to the cheeks.
Pigmentation is on the sheer side, but buildable. On pale skin, a sweep is all you need, but darker divas may need to apply several layers to get the colour to show up properly on their cheeks. While this can be frustrating for some, I think it makes Coralista very easy to use. It’s practically fool-proof. There’s no way you can overdo it and risk looking like a clown.
Instead, Coralista will add a warm and natural flush to your cheeks. It’s very easy to wear and it’s one of the blushes I use more often during the hot season. It’s a great colour for everyday looks and suits any occasion. The texture is silky soft to the touch and applies like a dream. On my dry cheeks, it lasts for 8 hours before it’s starts fading. I’m usually at home by then, so, unless I go out in the evening, I don’t need to retouch it anyway.
If you dislike scented blushes, though, you may want to give Coralista a sniff before purchasing it. Every time I open the box, my nose is bombarded with a really strong floral scent, which I don’t find very appealing. You can’t really smell the scent at all once the blush is on your cheeks, so it doesn’t bother me too much.
As for the packaging, I can’t say much about it. My Coralista blush was included in a palette, but its own box, judging from the promo photo, looks really fun. It comes with a brush which should do a decent job if you’re in a pinch. The palette I have included a mini version of it and, while it doesn’t apply Coralista as well as a blush brush does, it is soft and firm enough to do its job ok. The bigger version should work better. I’d only use it for emergencies though.
Benefit Coralista Blush is a sheer but buildable coral pink blush with gold shimmers that warms up the skintone and gives it a natural and healthy flush. Easy to apply, it lasts 8 hours on dry cheeks before it starts to fade. However, some people may find the strong floral scent offputting.
