Fair skin can be tricky to deal with. I have very pale skin and because of that I’m often told I can’t wear certain colors, but that is not true. People with fair skin can actually get away with using bright and bold colors. The key is to find out what works for you. Here are a few tips to help you enhance your complexion.
If you have pale skin, then you know how difficult it is to find a foundation that matches your skintone. You need to make sure the colour matches perfectly. If it is too dark you end up looking like you’re wearing a mask. However, not many companies make foundations for very pale-skinned people. Moreover, most of these foundations tend to be more expensive. A good option is to use a tinted moisturizer. Choose a beige or yellow-based product to minimizes the redness of the skin. Fair skin is more prone to wrinkling and aging, so choose a foundation that contains a good amount of SPF in it. In alternative, always apply a sunscreen before foundation, to help slow the aging process.
The thin skin around your eyes can become translucent so that it is possible to see the blood vessels underneath. To avoid this, use a yellow-based concealer that will even out the skintone. Also, concealer should be a shade or two lighter than the foundation.
Cool tones like grey, white, navy as well as chocolate browns, olive and lavender look great on pale skin. A soft smoky eye is another good option.
Apply blush with a light hand and be careful to not overdo it or you’ll end up looking like a clown. Cream blushes in pale pinks and apricots are a great choice for pale skin and gives you a natural rosy glow.
Choose a colour that is not too dark and apply it lightly or you’ll end up looking unnaturally tanned or even dirty.
Bright and deep red lips work really well for fair skinned women as do pinks and corals.
