it’s been a while since I wrote a letter to a beauty brand, and that’s because I find it hard to write them unless I have something to rant about. I guess I could rave about how much I love Sleek Makeup, or Barry M or Shiro Cosmetics but let’s face it, after the first paragraph you’d start to yawn and leave the blog. So, I thought I’d just write shorter letters to express my thoughts on certain brands and see if you share them too. And feel free to write your own letter to any brand in the comments! 🙂
we first met when I was a broke teenager. Back then, your products had a boring shade selection, a powdery and chalky texture and no color payoff. Despite the affordable and tempting prices, I soon started to avoid you. But a decade later (gosh, I feel so old now lol), beauty bloggers started to rave about your products and I thought I’d give them a second chance. You had (finally!) stepped up your game and released interesting and very pigmented products. The packaging still sucked, but you can’t have everything right? Especially when the prices are so cheap. And then a while ago, just at the time when your new eyeshadow palettes (that I was just dying to try) were starting to come out, you disappeared from Italy! WTH?! When your products sucked they could be found everywhere and now they’re actually good you’re leaving the country?! That’s so unfair! Please, dear Wet n Wild, come back soon! And bring your palettes with you!
you have done what I thought was impossible and that’s creating a cream eyeshadow that doesn’t crease on me. I had almost given up on cream eyeshadows as most of them tend to crease horribly on my somewhat oily lids after an hour or so even with a primer, but your Long Wear Creme Shadows are amazing and so longlasting! Even without a base, they stay put from morning till night. When I’m in a rush or know I’ll be out of the house all day, I’ll apply them on my lids and know I won’t have to worry about my pretty eye makeup for the rest of the day. So, thanks for these wonderful eyeshadows and please, never discount them!
for years I didn’t pay much attention to you, because you had a boring and old image that just didn’t appeal to me. But all that changed when Tom Peacheaux signed on as your new creative makeup director. Now your image is fresher, more fun, but still glamorous and sophisticated. Your eyeshadows have a lovely texture and are now available in bolder shades and I adore the fig scent of your lip products. But why are so few foundation shades available in Italy? I really wanna try your Double Wear foundation but you only sell 4 or 5 shades in Italy and they are all too dark for me. You make about 20 shades of that foundation, yet you chose to sell so few here. Not many people will be able to find a good match and will have to miss out on such a wonderful product. So unfair! So please, extend the shade selection of your foundations and other base products so that everyone will have a chance to try them!
