Long eyelashes make eyes look bigger and fuller, but not everyone is blessed with them. If, like me, you aren’t either, you can always achieve that dramatic look with a pair of false eyelashes. If you have never done it before, application can be tricky, frustrating and time consuming. But by following these steps, and practising a lot, you’ll soon be able to apply them like a pro!
Step 1: before you apply the lashes, line your upper lashline with a dark eyeliner pencil and smudge it slightly. This will conceal the lash band.
Step 2: most false eyelashes are too long for most women, so they need to be trimmed. Measure the lashes to your own eye to see how they fit across the lid. Then trim off any excess from the outer edge. Also, trim the ends unevenly to get a more natural look.
Step 3: apply a thin line of glue to the base of the strip and allow it to dry for a few seconds before applying the false eylash.
Step 4: using tweezers or your fingers, apply the false eyelashes starting from the outer corner of your eye and work you way inwards. Press and hold the false eyelashes as close to your own lash line as possible.
Step 5: Fill any gaps between the false lashes and your natural lash line with eyeliner. If you prefer, you can use an eyeshadow as liner.
What do you think of false eylashes? Have you ever used them?
