A few weeks ago, I shared with you my work-at-home essentials. But there are lots more staples I couldn’t live without every day. They make my life so much more pleasant and easier. I’m absolutely obsessed with them.
Curious to know what my everyday essentials are? Read on:
I’ll never be able to thank enough the angel who introduced me to Citymapper. This app is an absolute must for getting around London. I just have to tell it where I want to go, and it’ll show me the fastest way to get there. It’s like Google Maps, but better. I get lost a lot less since I started using it. Actually now I only get lost when I don’t use it. Sometimes I’m arrogant enough to believe I remember the way from memory. *sighs* Cipymapper always comes to my rescue. Thank goodness!
I’m often told I look younger than my age. That’s because I use sunscreen every single day. It prevents so much damage, keeping my skin healthy and younger-looking. My favourite sunscreens contain zinc oxide, although at the moment I’m using Nivea Sun Protect & Moisture 30. It’s lightweght, non-greasy, and does the job fine. It’s cheap too, which is always a plus.
3. Large Bag
This large brown bag from Carpisa my mom got me for Christmas is my favourite. It’s large enough to fit my laptop, makeup bag, jacket, even an extra pair of shoes… everything I need when I’m out and about. And it’s so stylish. I can carry it with me both at work and casual outings. So versatile!
I feel naked without perfume. Makeup I can skip, buut a few spritz of perfume? No way. Today I’m wearing Joan Collin’s I Am Woman. When I got the bottle I didn’t expect to like it. I thought it’d be your usual, way too sweet and nauseating celebrity scent, but nope. It’s mature, sophisticated, and makes me feel like a woman, not a litle girl.
I adore heels, but my poor feet couldn’t live in them every day. Flats are so much more comfortable. I can walk for miles in them without my feet complaining. My favourite flats at the moment are this black pair, with the cutest bow, from Primark. They’re comfy and go with everything! If I’m not wearing them on my feet, they’re in my bag so I can change into them when my heels start hurting my feet too much.
I totally forgot what I did before I got my first computer (gosh, I feel so old now!). I have a laptop now and I use it for everything. Work, pleasure, keeping in touch with friends and family back in Italy… I’d be completely and utterly lost without it. It’s a bit sad, I know, but so true.
As much as I need my laptop, if my house were on fire and I could only save one item, I’d choose my Kindle. No competition. These days I only have time to read on the tube or bus, and a Kindle is so convenient for that. It’s so lightweight, and allows me to easily carry a huge library with me wherever I go. I can read whatever I want whenever I want without hurting my arms (or eyes). What’s not to love?
8. Antioxidant Serum
After sunscreen, an antioxidant serum is the most important product in my skincare routine. Serums contain a higher concentration of antioxidants than moisturizers, so they work better and faster. I alternate between Paula’s Choice Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum and Paula’s Choice Resist Intensive Wrinkle Repair Retinol Serum. They’re both lightweight and chockfull of every antioxidant you can think of.
