It’s rare for me to buy a product more than once.
As a blogger, there’s always something new to try. So, no matter how awesome a product is, as soon as I’ve finished testing it, I move on to the next shining thing (and give said product to a friend, so it doesn’t go to waste).
But, recently, I found something that I plan to repurchase again and again and again because it’s so awesome, I can’t think of using anything else to shower with anymore.
Ok, I’ll probably try the odd body wash every now and then, because I like trying new stuff all the time, but, I will ALWAYS come back to Connock London Kukui Oil Soothing Bath & Shower Oil. Unless they discontinue it, which I hope they never do (if so, I will just have to buy all the remaining stock, hoping it’ll last me for the rest of my life).
What makes this stuff so awesome? Well, it’s an oil that turns into a luxurious white emulsion when it comes in contact with water. Basically, you take your clothes off, step in the shower, massage this slick oil all over your body, and then rinse it off with water.
You could also pour a few drops into your steaming bath tub, but I couldn’t try that. I have a bathtub at my house, but, every time someone uses it, water leaks down through the ceiling into the kitchen, turning it into a pool. It’s been several months now, and the landlord has yet to fix it. *sighs*
But, I’m disgressing. Doesn’t matter how you use it, Connock Kukui Oil Soothing Bath & Shower Oil removes all impurities from the skin, leaving it clean, soft and smelling gorgeous for hours. I tried those shower products that promise to be so hydrating, you don’t have to apply moisturizer afterwards, but, my skin is so dry, they never worked that well for me.
This one, instead, does absolute wonders. My skin has never felt so smooth after a shower, and I can really go without body butter, which makes my shower routine that little bit shorter. I really appreciate that when I’m in a rush, although, usually, I like to take my time in the shower, especially since I started using it, because I find the scent so relaxing.
Its secret is kukui oil, which is derived from the nuts of the kukui nut tree, also called candlenut tree. If you remember your chemistry lessons at school, like attracts like. That means that kukui oil is able to attract oil-based impurities and remove them from the skin. Like most oils, it is also moisturizing, creating a protective barrier on the skin that prevents water from evaporating. That’s how it’s able to cleanse and moisturize at the same time.
This was all expected. What really surprised me is that this stuff does NOT leave a greasy residue behind. Usually, oil-based cleansers need to be rinsed out with a foaming cleanser, but this one doesn’t. I had never tried anything like this before, but now that I have, I wish all bath & shower products were like this. Everything else seems so boring now.
At £36.00 a bottle this stuff isn’t cheap. But, it’s such a luxurious and pampering little treat that, for once, I don’t mind the splurge.
