Did anyone say citrus?
*pops out of nowhere*
I’m a sucker for anything citrus. I know these oils and their scents aren’t the best thing for sensitive skin BUT I don’t have sensitive skin. I can enjoy their zesty, sunny aromas without erupting in a bad rash.
So, when I heard that Bramley uses a citrus base for each of its bath & body products, I knew what I’d been bathing with for the near future.
Bubble Bath With Geranium, Lavender & Sweet Orange
For something called Bubble Bath, this bath (and shower) gel doesn’t make that many bubbles.
That’s cos it uses very mild cleansing agents (as a rule, the stronger the surfactant, the more bubbles it makes). I admit I do like my bubble baths a lot but they often leave my dry skin that little bit drier, so the trade-off is kind of worth it.
It still gets the job done, though. When I come out of my bathtub, my skin is clean and soft. All traces of dirt and grime have disappeared down the drain.
My worries, too. The soothing geranium scent has melted them all away. The lavender and sweet orange stay firmly in the background. You can barely sense their presence but they help round out the scent with a hearty vibe.
Body Lotion With Juniper, Sweet Orange & Bergamot
The scent is DIVINE!
This time the citrus notes take center stage. Sweet orange and bergamot form a very zesty accord sprinkled with herbal whiffs of juniper. I can’t get enough of it.
The lotion itself is lightweight and fast-absorbing. It’s not the kind of thing that would keep my very dry skin soft and moisturised in winter, but for this time of the year, it does the trick.
Ok, I have to apply a bit more than you normally would because my skin is dry. And I need to reapply it once or twice during the day. But, this stuff smells so amazing, I actually look forward to that!
Mind you, if your skin is normal, oily or only slightly dry skin, this body lotion will be moisturising enough for you. My thirsty skin craves body butters but for lotion lovers, this is truly amazing. You gotta smell that scent.
Ok, I’ll shut up now.
Hand wash With Lavender, Geranium & Petitgrain
This is very similar to the Bubble Bath. The active ingredients (those that cleanse the skin) are exactly the same, so you already know the drill: cleanses well, produces little foam and leaves skin soft.
That’s very important for me. I wash my hands 50 times a day, do the dishes without gloves and generally put my hands through hell every single day.
I need a hand wash that takes the dirt away without drying out my skin anymore than it already is and this fits the bill just right.
The difference with the bubble bath? The scent. This is a lot more herbal and earthy. My nose definitely detects lavender and a hint of geranium. If that’s your kind of thing, you’re gonna love this. Me, I like more citrusy scents (but you already knew that).
